WaterGlance

WaterGlance brings dated drought observations, historical charts, and state comparisons into one visual workspace. Users can explore weekly assessments, compare two states on matching dates, and download the displayed data with supporting source information.

Who it is for

Residents, researchers, and communicators exploring U.S. drought observations.

What the project covers

Explore drought conditions

Choose a state, review dated drought readings, and explore historical assessments across one-, three-, or five-year windows.

Compare states

Compare two states on shared assessment dates, with differences expressed in percentage points or index points.

Inspect and export evidence

Review source and coverage details, then download the displayed weekly series as a CSV and manifest packaged in an evidence ZIP.

Current status

WaterGlance supports exploration, not emergency, drinking-water safety, or operational decisions. Its glass visualization is illustrative: it does not measure water remaining, available supply, or future conditions. Coverage and freshness depend on the underlying records, and historical row-level retrieval details are incomplete.
